“Survival of the Fittest” was a commercial spot that I concieved for the Dorritos Super Bowl contest. My original vision for the piece was to do a paper cutout animation, but instead of paper, I was going to use chips. I think it came out fantastically well, and I give mad props to Anime Studio Pro and PCB Studios for helping me see this through to fruition.
As many of you know, I was recently commissioned to do a cover for the Jive Aces newest EP and Christmas album. This was a wonderful opportunity to test my skills as an artist and illustrator, and I thought I'd post a few sketches up here, giving you an idea to my artistic process. As you can see here, my process was to lay out the composition first and slowly refine it out till I was left with crisp lines. And finally, I painted it out in photoshop, and...voila!
